ETM DM: MTA’s modular air treatment modules for large capacity systems

The ETM DM are compressed air treatment modular units that can be connected to each other via MASTER/SLAVE logic. Each unit integrates a high-efficiency compact aluminium exchanger, a separation system and a condensate drain. In the MASTER configuration, the ETM DM modules include an electronic control unit that ensures correct operation.

Installable anywhere
The upgrading of large systems for the production of compressed air is often problematic and very expensive due to the lack of available space in equipment rooms. ETM DM modules perfectly solve this problem because, thanks to their compact dimensions and the possibility of being connected to a chiller located outside of the compressor room, they can also be easily integrated within existing systems.

Maximum reliability level
Very often large systems are not designed according to redundancy criteria as the installation of multiple dryers in stand-by with the corresponding piping take up valuable space. During maintenance these systems must therefore be put offline causing costly system downtime. The modular approach of the ETM DM ensures intrinsic redundancy of the critical components and therefore enables the reduction of periods of system downtime.

Ultimate energy saving
The load profiles of most of the manufacturing industries are highly variable. The flow rates of compressed air to be processed and the process temperatures fluctuate greatly during the day, forcing the dryers to operate at partial load for most of the time. The system, consisting of one or several ETM DM modules connected to a TAEevo chiller thus equates to a thermal mass energy saving dryer as it is capable to adapt its energy consumption to the actual requirement for inlet compressed air, ensuring the highest level of energy saving.

Adaptable to every need
It is possible to choose between several chiller + drying modules combinations by sizing the system to ensure optimal pressure loss level without affecting the level of electrical power absorbed while increasing the level of redundancy and safety of the system.

DE iTECH is the new generation of energy saving refrigeration cycle dryers with which MTA not only renews its range of products for the processing of compressed air but reinterprets the concept of thermal mass to which the DE Hybrid dryers owe their success. The innovative Impulse Technology system offers important advantages in terms of energy savings, reliability and management costs thanks to the ability of DE iTECH to adapt perfectly to the real requirements of the system. The dryer adjustment system controls its operation and ensures the ideal energy solution for drying of the compressed air, allowing high savings and at the same time excellent stability of the dew point, even under dynamic conditions.

DE ETM

The new thermal mass cycling refrigerated air dryers DE ETM represents the best solution for the treatment of high compressed air flow for all those applications that require low energy consuption, reliability and high performance.

Energy savings

The DE ETM thermal mass technology allows the units to adapt their own energy consuption to the actual load, ensuring over 80% of savings compared to traditional air dryers. DE ETM energy saving capacity can be further improved by activating the DDF system, an advanced technology of the microprocessor control that automatically regulates the DEW point on the basis of the ambient temperature, in order to reduce the absorbed power of the compressors.

New high efficiency heat exchanger

The new high efficiency heat exchanger, with optimized countercurrent exchange and integrated air-to-air exchanger, ensures low energy consuptions and minimized pressure drops. The accurate design and the integrated demister separator ensure a precise DEW point and the protection from any risk of condensation freezing.

Maximum reliability

DE ETM air dryers integrate a reliable industrial chiller, whose tank works as thermal mass. The careful choice of high quality materials and components ensures the dryer to work for long times reducing the possibility of damage.

The special bar&plate technology of heat exchangers allows DE ETM to work with compressed air load from 32 to 225 m³/min, keeping precise the DEW point in all conditions and low pressure drops.

HPDry

The HPDry has been studied specifically for high pressure drying requirements (e.g. the production of PET bottles). The extremely strong construction with shell and tube heat exchangers with stainless steel pipes, ensures safe and continuous operation in any conditions.
HPDry is an energy saving dryer as it exploits the operational advantages of the thermal storage principle: a hydraulic vessel on the machine accumulates cold, acting as a thermal storage. This allows the dryer to automatically adapt to the air flow and ambient conditions, ensuring energy savings, which at partial loads can typically vary from 30 to 80%.
All HPDry models are made up from a chiller used to cool the compressed air passing through the gas/water shell and tube heat exchanger, allowing the moisture to be removed.

Compressed air is commonly used for power tools and equipment in production and finishing processes or to activate valves and instruments. The compression process itself causes the concentration of moisture, of the lubricant oil vapours and the particles of impurities present in the air sucked from the compressor, up to levels that can damage the pneumatic equipment, increase the need for maintenance or ruin the finished product.
The DN dryers are suitable for the treatment of high flow rates of compressed air and offer two important advantages: extremely high energy savings, with the possibility of using up to 4 compressors offering load dependent partialisation; maximum operating safety, thanks to the installation of several compressors in independent refrigeration circuits.
All DN models are equipped with high efficiency scroll compressors and are fitted with the innovative DRYSTREAM exchanger able to guarantee extremely low dew points in all conditions as well as reducing pressure drops to a minimum along with energy consumption.

DryXtreme – NST

Adsorption air dryers

The heat regenerated adsorption air dryers in the DryXtreme – NST range treat large volumes of compressed air as the air flow of treated air necessary for regeneration is minimal.
The dew point of- 40 °C allows accurate and efficient operation in many critical applications such as the chemical-pharmaceutical, food, electronic, automotive industries or in external, low temperature installations.
The NC dryers are made up from two painted carbon steel vessels, both filled with absorbent material (activated alumina). The compressed air is dried alternately by the 2 towers, which are regenerated through combination of the heat emitted by a heater inside each vessel and a minimum flow rate of dry air.
